In January a refinements exercise was completed on the Families First Standards to ensure that they continue to reflect the changing FIS environment and the challenges that this presents. The exercise had another equally important objective which was to secure Ministerial endorsement at a national level. We are very pleased to announce that this endorsement was confirmed in a letter to Directors of Children's Services and FIS Managers on 22nd Janaury along with a copy of Version 3.0 of the Families First Standards. A copy of the letter and the latest standards are avaialble to download below:

Families First Support
As we move into 2010 the Families First Team will continue to support those FIS who are going forward with the award. Already this year the team has contributed to two Government Office events held in the North West at the beginning of February as well as a recent meeting of London FIS Managers. Electronic copies of the self assessment checklist for FIS are available to download here for any FIS to make use of.
